Contemporary Topics in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus | Onsite at HSS and Livestream Event | May 5, 2023 | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm ET Diagnosis and management of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) can be challenging but clinicians share the goal of improving outcomes for SLE patients, especially women of childbearing age, racial and ethnic minorities, those with high-risk conditions, concomitant diseases, and severe clinical manifestations. Thumb carpal metacarpal joint (CMCJ) arthritis is common. Surgical denervation is an option for symptomatic CMCJ arthritis. Articular branches of denervation can be performed using a single volar incision. Synovectomy at the CMCJ can also be performed at the same time. Short recovery period is noted.
